The maintenance massage routine is the more traditional soft tissue work that uses varying amounts of pressure to influence the muscles in the most effective way.
This massage routine is most effective if you do a proper analysis and assessment of your horse. Take the time to palpate your horse and train your hands to feel varying tensions within the muscle. Then you can adjust your pressure and strokes to be most effective and get the best results.
